Kevin OVS, CEO & President
Kevin has 20 years experience in Oregon viticulture and co-owns Resonance Vineyard and Winery. He is a life-long learner, with a dedicated interest in
more » soil and plant nutrition and health. Kevin has a Bachelors from the University of Oregon and serves as past-president of the following organizations: Oregon Wine Board (oregonwine.org), the Oregon Vineyard Industry Database (ovd.us), the Oregon Winegrowers Association (OWA), and the Trust for Oregon Wine Education and Research. He is the recipient of the Oregon Winegrowers Association "Retailer of the Year," and was named the Oregon Wine Industry "Man of the Year" in 2006.
Mark OVS, COO
Mark began his career as General Manager of the container operations of Carlton Nursery Company, and in 1984 joined Monrovia Growers as part of the
more » company’s expansion of operations into Oregon. He served as General Manager of the Oregon location and oversaw the construction and continued operations of the site. In 1998 he was named COO of Monrovia Growers, responsible for operations management across the Company’s five production nurseries. Mark is keenly aware of the production performance levels top quality nurseries strive to achieve. A graduate of Cal-Poly Pomona with a degree in Horticulture, Mark obtained an MBA from George Fox University in 1997.
Ken Agronomic and Fertilizer Manager
Ken has over 25 years experience in Ag related businesses, including liquid and dry fertilizer blending, storage and handling. He currently oversees
more » the efforts of the OVS Agronomic Team.Ken holds an ODA Commercial Applicators license and has received Sandlers Institute Sales Training, and is the recipient of the Dale Carnegie Award for Excellence and the Breaking Out Award. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
Gary Turf Consultant
Gary has a 16 year history in Turf Management Services. He was the Regional Sales Manager for Seed Research of Oregon and founded the
more » Professional Turf Center in Tigard, Oregon in 1992.In early 2007, the business was purchased by OVS. Gary continues as a turf consultant to golf courses, municipalities, parks, landscapers and residential clients throughout Oregon and Washington.
Mark Agronomist
Currently serving as Chair of the Oregon Hazelnut Commission, Mark handles chemical and nutrient purchasing for both OVS and ProTurf Solutions. He is
more » an OVS Crop Consultant specializing in Wine Grapes and Hazelnuts. He has been an OVS employee since 1986. Mark serves the local agricultural community through professional membership on the L.I.V.E. Technical Committee, the Chemeketa Community College Viticulture Advisory Board and the Oregon Hazelnut Commission.Mark has a Bachelors Degree in Horticulture and a specialization in Integrated Pest Management from Michigan State University, 1980. He also holds an Oregon Crop consultants license.
Wade Agronomist
Wade has been a crop consultant in the Willamette Valley for 19 years. His college degree is in Horticulture Crop Production from Oregon State University
more » and he is an Oregon Certified Crop Consultant. Wade has specialized in Willamette Valley horticultural and agricultural crops including, but not limited to: peppermint, row crops, nuts, berries, grass seed, and wheat. He is currently involved in working with growers to help establish Organic Acid based fertilizer programs.
Jon Agronomist
Jon started with OVS in the summer of 2008 right after he graduated with a degree in Crop and Soil Science from Oregon State University. Jon is a
more » licensed crop consultant who focuses on grapes, berries, row crops and hops. Jon’s family farms East of Woodburn and owns and operates the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. He is also an active member of the Oregon Farm Bureau.
Nino Agronomist
Nino joined OVS in 2010 as a crop consultant and works with the cane berry and nursery/green-house industries. She holds a MS in Agribusiness
more » Management and a PhD in Plant Protection (IPM) from her agricultural university in the European country of Georgia. Nino has 11 years greenhouse experience and managed a commercial unit in Georgia.She has received training in Israel and Moldova and spent one and a half years working for two large growers here in the Willamette Valley as an intern on the International Horticultural Program through Ohio State University. In addition to IPM, Nino can help you in crop nutrition, fertilizer rates, biological control and many other issues. Beside her native Georgian language, Nino also speaks Russian and English.
Raul Agronomist
Raul joined OVS in 2009 as a Crop Consultant specializing in nurseries and Christmas trees. A native of Guatemala, he holds a Bachelor of
more » Science in Ornamental Horticulture with an emphasis in Nursery Management from Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo.Throughout 30 years of nursery experience in the Northwest, Raul has worked in all aspects of plant propagation and production. He managed his own plug-production facility, Microseed Nursery, for two decades and has consulted internationally in Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. Raul has an Oregon Pesticide Consultant License and has a passion for training Hispanic nursery personnel.
Corin Agronomist
Corin began his work in agricultural research in 1995 at UC Davis. His experience working in agricultural research includes time working with UC Davis
more » Extension, Agronomy, Pomology and Entomology. Corin earned a Masters of Science degree in Integrated Pest Management with and emphasis in Entomology from UC Davis and then worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Entomology for 5 years. Corin also managed the production of organic vegetables and fruit at several farms in the Sacramento Valley of California.Corin is a crop consultant specializing in blueberries, cane berries and organic farming. He has an Oregon Pesticide Consultant License. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, hiking, biking and camping.
